Spent 3 sessions trying to fix my surround sound for Birdemic, turns out the TV was on mute the whole time

I mean, I even swapped out the receiver and checked all the speaker wires for like 2 hours before I noticed the red mute icon sitting in the corner, has anyone else done something this dumb during movie prep?
