The one mistake that ruins a bad movie night every time
I kept picking movies that were just boring instead of entertainingly bad. That is the key difference. A boring movie like "The Room" is a snooze, but something like "Birdemic" with its awful CGI birds is gold. How do you tell the difference before you commit to 90 minutes?

Honestly @thompson.reese, trailers are usually the worst way to tell - they can make anything look good.

A boring movie usually has bad acting AND bad pacing, right? So how do you spot a movie that's boring-bad instead of fun-bad just from the poster or the first ten minutes? Does the trailer actually show you the terrible effects, or does it hide them until you're already stuck watching?

Oh come on, does it really matter that much whether a movie is boring-bad or fun-bad? If I'm stuck in a theater with a dud, I'm just going to scroll my phone or take a nap either way. Trailers can hide the boring stuff for sure, but honestly who's out here analyzing every poster for pacing clues before walking in?
