Dropped $175 on a 6 quart stand mixer at a garage sale and it nearly ended me
Found it in a driveway in Tacoma, lady said her mom used it twice. Got it home, plugged it in, and it walked itself right off the counter during a double batch of chocolate chip cookie dough. Turns out the base was cracked and she forgot to mention it, so I ate the cost of a new bowl and a dented floor tile. My neighbor heard the crash and still brings it up at every BBQ. Has anyone else bought used gear that turned into a project instead of a deal?

Check the base before buying and you would have saved yourself the mess.
