I finally had a perfect baking day last Saturday and it almost felt wrong
Everything just clicked. My sourdough got that ear I've been chasing for 6 months, my croissants actually laminated right on the first try, and I sold out of everything at the farmers market by 9:30 AM. The weird part was I didn't change anything. Same recipe, same oven temp, same routine. Makes me wonder if days like that are just random luck or if there's something I'm missing. Has anyone else had one of those freak perfect days where you don't want to touch anything after?

That third batch always screws me up too.

Wait, is your oven also a fan of that weird heat spike after the first two trays? I tried making sheet pan nachos last week and the third batch of chips came out looking like they fought a war with the broiler. My cat even sniffed at them and walked away, which is basically a Michelin star insult in my house. I just tossed the black ones in the trash and pretended the first two batches were enough anyway.

Wait, did you mess up the third batch too? I still remember one time I was baking cookies and the third tray came out looking like charcoal briquettes. I swear my oven has a personal vendetta against anything that goes in after the first two rounds. My sister said it was because I was too busy watching YouTube videos instead of setting a timer, but I think the oven just has a mind of its own. I ended up scraping the burnt bottoms off and just eating the tops like some kind of cookie scavenger.
