Overheard a girl at the coffee shop say her grandma's bread recipe is 'too much work'

I was waiting for my order and this girl is on the phone saying her grandma's sandwich bread takes all day with rising and punching and she just gets the frozen dough from the grocery. Made me think about how my own grandma used to spend Sunday afternoons kneading on the counter. I'm not saying everyone needs to bake from scratch, but there's something about the feel of dough that the frozen stuff just doesn't have. Anyone else feel like we lost something when bread became a convenience thing?

Used to grab frozen myself. Your grandma post changed my mind.

Wait, you actually switched from frozen to fresh just because of her grandma story? That's funny because I noticed the same thing. I used to think fresh was overrated until I actually tasted the difference side by side. Now I can't go back even if it takes a little more time. Frozen just doesn't hit the same way after you've had the good stuff.

Oh man, same here! I was team frozen all the way until I actually tried fresh green beans next to frozen ones and it was like a totally different vegetable.
