Vent: my sourdough starter went silent after moving it to the garage
I keep my starter in the garage because the kitchen gets too warm in the afternoons, but after 3 days of no rise, I found the thermometer read 54°F. I moved it back inside next to the water heater and fed it twice as much flour and water this morning. Has anyone else had a starter struggle after a temperature drop, and did it come back quickly or take a week?

Totally agree that warmth is key here, sounds like your starter basically went dormant at 54. Doubling the feed is a solid move, just give it a few days and it should bounce back once it wakes up.
