Dropped $75 on a fancy banneton set, my bread game finally took off
I kept fighting with my dough sticking to everything and flat loaves that looked like sad pancakes. After 6 months of that nonsense I caved and bought a set of two cane bannetons and a scoring lame for like $75 total. First try with the banneton and my sourdough actually held its shape and got that nice ear on top. The little cloth liners are a pain to clean but honestly worth it for the crust texture. My buddy still uses a mixing bowl with a tea towel and his loaves come out fine so maybe it's just me. Anyone else shell out for a specific tool that fixed a constant baking fail for them? What was the cheapest thing that made the biggest difference in your bakes?
