Finally got my first perfect batch of macarons after 7 tries at my sister's wedding shower
I was sweating in my aunt's 90 degree kitchen in Phoenix last Saturday and realized letting the batter rest 20 extra minutes was the one thing I kept skipping.

Used to think rest time was just internet hype, honestly. Every other step felt way more important to me, like the almond flour sifting or the oven temp. But after one batch came out cracked and lopsided with those weird feet sticking out, I finally tried a full 45 minute rest and it was night and day. The shells came out smooth with those perfect little ruffled feet underneath. Makes you wonder what other little shortcuts you've been taking that are actually killing your results, right?

Oh man, 7 tries is some serious dedication, I feel your pain. The rest time thing is so easy to overlook, like @the_william said, that little step really makes or breaks the whole batch. Hoping the next set comes out even smoother for you
