Pro tip: the bakery case at the fair in Sandusky beats any fancy cake shop, and I'll die on this hill
I stopped by the county fair in Sandusky two weeks ago and watched a woman pull a lopsided angel food cake out of a dusty display case, and it was still the best thing I ate all day. Everyone online says you need a $60 pan and a stand mixer to bake anything decent, but that cake had a sunken middle and a crack down the side and tasted better than the perfect ones. Does anyone else think we fuss way too much over how a bake looks when the sloppy ones are often the better eat?
