Appreciation post: A regular showed me a photo of his hair from a year ago and I finally saw my own mistake.
I'd been cutting his hair slightly too short on the sides for months, but seeing the old picture made it obvious. The fade line was sitting a quarter inch too high, which was throwing off his whole shape. Has anyone else had a client's photo totally reframe a cut you thought you'd nailed?

Ugh, photos are the worst kind of proof.

Yeah I get where @ninas67 is coming from, photos can be so easy to fake now. What worked for me was asking for a short video clip instead, something way harder to edit on the fly. It just feels more real when you see the thing moving and hear a voice. Saved me from a bad buy last month when the "new" item looked totally different on video.

My last video check showed a huge scratch the seller cropped out of the photos. Honestly, asking for a quick pan around the item with today's date on a piece of paper works every time. It just cuts through all the nonsense.
