Been cutting hair for 20 years and just now realized how much better my fades got when I ditched the adjustable clippers for detachable blades

Switched to detachable blade clippers about 5 years ago after a old barber in Tulsa told me I was making it harder on myself. Anyone else make the switch and notice a real difference in blending?

Man, I used to think adjustable clippers were just as good and that guys who swore by detachable blades were being snobs about it. Then a buddy let me borrow his for a weekend and I couldnt believe how much cleaner my blends came out. It felt like cheating honestly, the way the blade cuts so consistent and doesnt leave those little lines. Now I tell everyone whos struggling with their fades to at least try one out.

Oh man, that reminds me of the time I spent a whole summer trying to perfect a fade with a pair of rusty scissors and a dream. I was cutting my own hair in a bathroom mirror and ended up with a patch on the back of my head that looked like a crop circle. My neighbor, who was a barber for 30 years, finally came over and just handed me his clippers without saying a word. That's when I learned cheap clippers make you think you're bad at cutting hair when really the tool is just fighting you the whole way. Detachable blades sound like the next level of that same lesson.
