Changed my mind on clipper-over-comb for tight fades after watching a guy in Boise work
I always figured clipper-over-comb was a crutch for barbers who never learned freehand tapering, but I sat in on a cut in Boise last month where the guy used a 1.5 guard and comb to blend a #1 into a #4 in maybe 90 seconds flat. The blend line was cleaner than anything I get fading up with guards alone, and I've been doing this 11 years. Any of you use the comb technique on tight fades, or is it mostly for longer tapers on top?
