Dropped $350 on a new cordless clipper and it's been a total letdown

I got the new model everyone was talking about, thinking it would be a game changer for my mobile work (the battery life is supposed to be amazing, right?). After a month, the motor feels weak and it snags on thicker hair, which is a huge problem for my fade work. Has anyone found a good cordless clipper that actually holds up under heavy use?

Check the blade tension first, a lot of people forget that. It might just need a simple fix before you write it off completely. These new tools often have a break in period.

Oh man, the classic "check the tension" advice. It's always the first thing you overlook while you're busy planning a dramatic return to the store. Spent twenty minutes convinced it was a lemon, only to find out the knob just needed a half turn. Feels a bit silly after that.

What specific brand and model did you end up with? I ask because @susan649 is right about checking the basics, but some of the newer lightweight motors just can't handle dense hair no matter what you do. If the power fades after a few weeks, that sounds like a deeper design flaw.
