Finally nailed my fade blending after 6 months at the shop

I kept seeing guys on here talk about the "C" motion but I was just flicking my wrist too fast. My mentor Mark told me last Tuesday to slow down and let the clipper do the work, and I actually got a smooth blend on a skin fade for the first time. The guy said "this is the best cut I've had in years" and I almost cried. Has anyone else had that moment where one little tip just clicks?

Honestly I used to think that whole "click" thing was overhyped but now I get it completely.

So what was the moment? Was it a specific thing you suddenly understood or did it just creep up on you one day? I had that happen with a car repair I'd been putting off, and then one afternoon it all made sense and I felt stupid for not seeing it sooner.
