Had the worst Saturday of my career last weekend

I booked 8 cuts back to back and 4 of them no showed. That's like $240 down the drain. Then the last walk-in guy brought in a picture of a fade that was completely unrealistic for his hair type. I spent 45 minutes trying to explain why it wouldn't work and he left mad anyway. Anyone else ever have a day where nothing goes right even when you try your best?

Did you try asking for a deposit on those booked cuts? I started doing that with new clients after a similar day last year, and it cut my no-shows way down. For the fade guy, I had a client like that once and I just told him straight up "your hair won't do this, but here's what will look close." Ended up showing him pictures of guys with his same hair type and he finally agreed to try something different. It took a lot longer than a normal cut but at least he left happy and tipped decent. Sometimes you just gotta meet them halfway with realistic options instead of trying to argue. You probably learned a lot from that day even if it sucked hard at the time.

Did you ever try pulling up photos on your phone of similar hair types with good fades? I keep a folder of them now, it saves a lot of back and forth.
