Hot take: I think barbers should charge more for kids' cuts, but my buddy in Charlotte says it's bad for business.
Last week, a regular brought in his three boys, and the youngest one squirmed the whole 25 minutes. My buddy says keeping kids' prices low builds a family clientele for years, but I feel the extra work and time should cost more. What's your shop's policy on pricing for little ones?

Your buddy's point about building a family clientele is the long game. Maybe a small upcharge for the real wigglers balances the extra time without scaring off the parents.

Remember my friend who tried charging extra for fussy kids at his cafe? He lost a few regulars who felt singled out, even though the price was small. Now he just builds the wiggle time into his overall pricing so nobody feels targeted.

Murphy's right about the long game. But building the wiggle time into all kid cuts just makes the chill kids pay for the screamers. A small upcharge for the real tough ones is just honest.
