I finally figured out why my fades were leaving a dark line near the temple

Kept happening for months no matter how much I opened the lever or played with my guards. Turns out I was going too fast through the transition zone. My mentor watched me one day and said slow down right there. Now I take like 3 extra seconds in that spot and the blend is way smoother. Anyone else have a simple fix like that that took forever to learn?

Stretch out that fade line area with a flick of the wrist as you come through. Did the same thing for ages until a buddy pointed out my wrist was locked tight. Loosening up that motion cleaned up my blends overnight.

Took me way too long to figure out that same thing (like, embarrassingly long). My wrists were so stiff it looked like I was trying to deep fry a feather.

That "flick of the wrist" thing is exactly it. It's funny how a tiny tweak in your motion can make or break a whole cut. Makes you wonder how many other things in life we're overcomplicating by locking up like that. I notice it all the time now when people are learning something new, they get stiff and rigid instead of just letting it flow.
