My uncle, a barber for 40 years, swore by using a straight razor for the final neckline pass.
I thought it was just old-school overkill until I tried it on a client last week. The clean-up was so sharp, the guy actually asked if I'd used a different clipper guard. What's one piece of 'old timer' advice you tried that actually worked?

Seems like a huge liability risk for a tiny cosmetic gain. That's a lawsuit waiting to happen if someone flinches.

Totally see where you're coming from. I mean, even a small jump scare could make someone jerk their hand and mess up the whole thing. Imagine getting a text alert at the wrong moment, you know? It just feels like an unnecessary chance to take for something that doesn't really change how anything works.

Yeah, and think about the noise startling the artist too.
