Question about fading - saw a big difference in my work after 8 months

Hey everyone, so I started cutting hair about 8 months ago and I noticed a huge change in my fades from month 2 to now. Back then my blends were always choppy with hard lines, but after watching some tutorials from a barber in Chicago I started using a different clipper-over-comb technique. I also switched from the Wahl Magic Clip to the corded Senior and that helped a ton. My question is, for the experienced barbers here, how long did it take before your fades felt like second nature? And did anyone else hit a plateau around the 6 month mark where you felt stuck?

Nah, Magic Clip is solid. Different tools fit different hands.
