Rant: That clipper oil everyone swore by was total garbage for me

I picked up some hyped up clipper oil from a barber supply shop in Chicago last month after like 5 guys online said it was the best thing since sliced bread. After 3 cuts my Wahl Magic Clips started dragging and making this awful noise that sounded like a dying cat. Has anyone else tried that stuff and had it mess up their blades or did I just get a bad bottle?

Third bottle in and my Oster 76s started sounding like a rusty lawnmower around the fifth cut. I had to take them apart and clean everything twice before they ran smooth again. Total waste of money and time if you ask me.

Same thing happens with cheap kitchen scissors too. It's like companies save money on the moving parts and then act surprised when they fail after a few uses. Maybe it's just me but seems like a lot of stuff is designed to be replaced instead of repaired these days.

Hold on, planned obsolescence makes sense from a business standpoint if people keep buying new stuff. My parents have a pair of Fiskars scissors from the 80s that still cut like day one, and the company is still around making money hand over fist. Good engineering lasts, but most folks just buy the cheap thing and blame the company when it breaks.
