Tried a foil shaver on a older gentleman for the first time yesterday
I always used clippers for a clean look but this guy wanted baby smooth so I grabbed my Foil FX and it took half the time with zero irritation. Has anyone else had a client insist on a foil shave over clippers and regretted it mid cut?

Hell yeah, that's a solid result. Were you nervous going in with the foil on an older guy, or did you already know his skin could handle it? I'm curious if you checked his skin condition first, like any moles or loose spots that could get caught up.

I used to be the kind of person who HATED the idea of shaving older guys with a foil. I thought their skin would be too fragile and you'd just tear them up. But a client a few years back, probably in his late 70s, sat down and asked me to go for it. His skin was actually tighter than I expected, just had some deep creases. I had to pull the skin taut like you were describing, and it came out perfect with zero irritation. That experience COMPLETELY changed my mind on the whole thing, now I don't even hesitate.

Three minutes in I hit a spot on his jawline and thought I'd accidentally unzipped his face like a suitcase. He didn't even flinch, just said "that's the good part." I was more nervous about his neck folds to be honest, had to stretch it like pizza dough to get a clean pass.
