Wrote off clipper-over-comb for 6 years, then a guy at the shop in Tucson showed me the guard trick
I always thought clipper-over-comb was slow and sloppy, so I faded everything with freehand clippers for years. Last month my shop neighbor Ray in Tucson showed me to run the taper guard on top of the comb instead of bare blades, and my blend time on a skin fade dropped from about 25 minutes to 14 with fewer lines. Used it on 9 clients since and only one needed a touch-up pass. Anyone else run a guard over the comb, or do you keep it bare and just slow down?
