I used to read a real book in bed, now I scroll the same 3 apps until 1am
Back in 2016 I had a lamp and a paperback on my nightstand and I'd fall asleep by page 8. These days I lie there cycling between my weather app, a car listing I'll never buy, and a radar loop, and I swear the phone glow keeps my brain awake longer than any book did. Does anyone actually put the phone in another room and sleep better, or is that just something people say?
Isnt this just what happened to everything, we took one small thing and made it endless? A book had a last page so your brain knew it could stop, but the phone never runs out of stuff to show you. I moved mine to the kitchen counter a month ago and I'm asleep before 11 now, which honestly shocked me.
