That late night shopping video made me put my phone down for real

Last night I was scrolling at 1am and caught some random clip about how these apps track your eye movement to figure out what to sell you next. It was some tech guy explaining it like it was nothing, but I grabbed an actual calculator and added up my last 6 months of 2am buys. Came to $340 on stuff I do not even remember loading up in my cart. I deleted three shopping apps right then and switched to airplane mode, but the spooky part is the next day my feed still showed me the exact boots I had been staring at. Has anyone else tried to outsmart the algorithm and just ended up feeling watched at bedtime?
