Why does nobody talk about the guy on the insomnia forum who typed "goodnight" to me at 2:47 AM
I couldn't sleep last Tuesday, so I ended up in a random insomnia chat room around 2 in the morning, just scrolling on my phone in the dark like always. Some guy named Ray from Tulsa said he types "goodnight" to one stranger every night before he puts his phone down, no matter what. I asked him why and he said his late wife used to say it to him even when they were fighting, and it just stuck with him. So at 2:47 AM he typed it to me, and I said it back, and we both logged off. It took me maybe 20 seconds and I fell asleep faster than I had in weeks, which makes no sense but it's true. Now I'm curious, does anyone else here do some tiny goodbye thing with their phone before bed, or am I the only one who found this weirdly calming?
