Debate: Should you grease the threads on pedal spindles or leave them dry?
At my shop last Tuesday, I had two old-timers go at it for a solid 10 minutes about this. One swears by grease to prevent seizing, and the other says grease makes pedals loosen up and fall off over time. I personally always dry-fit them, so which camp is actually right here?

Grease makes them fall off" isn't totally a myth though. I've seen it happen on a few cheap pedals where the grease got on the crank threads (like if you glob it on too thick) and it basically turned the whole thing into a slippery mess. Torque matters a lot, but so does just not overdoing the grease.

Funny you mention that, because I actually switched to greasing them a few years back and haven't had a single pedal come loose. The whole "grease makes them fall off" thing is a myth if you torque them right.
