Found a cheap trick for stuck seatposts using Coca-Cola
I had this old Schwinn frame sitting in my garage for like 6 months with a seized seatpost. Tried a torch, tried penetrating oil, nothing budged. Then a buddy from the local co-op told me to pour Coke around the base and let it sit overnight. Drained it, tapped the seatpost with a hammer, and it slid right out. Anyone else use weird household stuff to break rust?

That 6 months of sitting while seized might have actually helped you out since the rust had time to fully set in before the acid hit. Did you flush it with water after or just let the sugar dry inside the tube? Ive heard mixed results on Coke leaving a sticky residue that attracts dirt later on, especially if you dont rinse it out well. Curious if yours had any issues with that or if you just wiped it down and called it good.

That 6 month wait is interesting @emery_white, I'd be worried the sugar would gum up the works later on. Did you have to do anything special to get all the sticky stuff out of the frame after?
