Had a customer's vintage Campagnolo derailleur spring snap mid-adjustment
I was in the middle of a tune-up at my shop in Tacoma when the tiny spring just gave out. Ended up having to fabricate a replacement from a donor part off an old Sachs unit I had in my bin. Has anyone else found a reliable source for these obsolete small parts?

Man, I had the exact same thing happen with a 1987 Campy Victory rear derailleur last spring. I mean, that little spring just disintegrated in my fingers. I ended up scavenging one from a busted Shimano 600 Arabesque mech, but it took like two hours of filing to get the tension right. I've never found a real source for them, just a box of old parts I dig through. It feels like we're all just keeping these old bikes alive with spare parts from other dead ones.
