That one seatpost removal that tested all my patience

This vintage bike came in with the seatpost completely frozen. I tried soaking it in lubricant overnight, then using a vice and pipe. Maybe it's just me, but after two full days of working on it, I almost gave up. Idk, but when it finally moved, it felt like a huge win.

Watched my buddy wrestle with a seized seatpost on an old Schwinn last summer. He ended up heating the frame with a torch, then rigging a huge cheater bar on his wrench. The whole thing was groaning and we heard this awful creak. When it finally broke free, he just stood there staring at it, completely stunned. That tiny movement felt like a major victory after all that.

Did you try any heat on it before the vice? (Sometimes a little warmth can break the corrosion loose.) That moment when it finally gives way must've been so satisfying.

Ugh, that feeling is the best. I had an old Peugeot that fought me for two days straight. When the seatpost finally creaked and turned, I actually yelled "YES!" in my empty garage. It's like the whole world just gets easier.
