That seized pedal spindle made me rethink my whole cleaning routine

I was trying to swap pedals on my commuter last night and the left one had basically fused itself to the crank arm after a wet winter. Ended up having to cut the spindle with a hacksaw to get the crank off has anyone else had to resort to that kind of damage control on a simple pedal job?

Lol literally had to do the same thing last week, right of passage I guess.

Oh man, it is SO a rite of passage (or maybe just us being a little too confident in our abilities?). I thought I had everything under control and then boom, I was running around like a headless chicken trying to fix it before anyone noticed. Honestly, at this point I just laugh it off because panicking doesn't help, you know? We're all just out here learning the hard way, one mistake at a time.

The older I get, the more I realize that whole "fake it till you make it" thing is basically how most adults operate in every area of life, not just work. Like, nobody really knows what they're doing half the time, we're all just stumbling through and hoping nobody notices the duct tape holding things together. It's kind of comforting in a weird way, knowing that the person you think has it all figured out is probably running around like a headless chicken behind the scenes too.
