Why does nobody talk about how bad the new Shimano brake pad compound is?

Had a customer come in last week after their new pads wore down to the metal in under 300 miles. I swapped them for a different brand and the bite is way better. Anyone else seeing this on recent builds?

Yeah, that was my friend's pair. He got a bad batch, the tread was separating. Most people get way more miles out of them.

Honestly, taylor12 is right about bad batches. Just call the company, they'll usually send a new pair no questions asked.
