Debate: Skipping the first season of a show vs watching it all

I've started skipping season one on shows that take a while to find their footing, like The Office or Parks and Rec. It saves time but am I missing crucial setup or just cutting the boring stuff? What do you all think, worth it or lazy?

Office and Parks season ones are like training montages, skip right to the good stuff.

The Office season one is only six episodes anyway, so it's not like you're losing much time. But Parks and Rec season one is rough, I think people blow it out of proportion. That said, you miss Michael in "Diversity Day" or Leslie's meltdown in "Rock Show," those are pretty key character moments. I'd say watch them once just to see how the actors grew into the roles.
