I binged The Bear in 4 nights and then tried the same with Succession, and only one of them worked
So last week I finished all of season 2 of The Bear in 4 nights, which is fast for me because I usually fall asleep around episode 3. Something about those 30 minute episodes and the constant yelling in the kitchen kept me locked in. Then I switched to Succession, thinking it would hit the same way, and I got through 3 episodes in 6 days and just stopped. The episodes are almost an hour each and the dialogue is so slow and quiet that I kept picking up my phone. My wife said I quit because Succession has no one to root for, and maybe she is right. The Bear has people trying to fix something, even when they keep messing up, and that pulled me forward. So here is my question for you all: does a show need short episodes and high stress to be binge worthy, or am I just too impatient for the slow burn stuff? Which side are you on?
