Just crossed 50 series on my third rewatch of The Expanse

I hit 50 episodes of The Expanse last night. Didn't plan it. Just looked at my HBO tracker after finishing season 5 again. That show has this crazy density. Every time I catch a new detail about the protomolecule or the Belt. It's like watching a different show. 50 episodes felt like a milestone cause I usually get bored at 20. Anyone else find a show that gets better with more rewatches?

Wait hold on, 50 episodes? Are you telling me you rewatched the whole thing three times? That's wild, I barely made it through season 3 once without getting lost in all the factions and politics. But I gotta admit, that detail about the protomolecule having alien AI built into it blew my mind on a rewatch. Like the first time I thought it was just some gooey space stuff, but then I realized it's basically a terraforming weapon with a mind of its own. That show really does pack a punch when you look closer.

Season 3 is definitely where it gets thick with the faction stuff, I totally get that. What worked for me was watching it with a friend who had already seen it, he just casually dropped "oh that's Mars Parliament" or "that's the OPA splinter group" when I got confused. Took the pressure off having to remember everything myself. The protomolecule reveal on a rewatch is wild though, I didn't catch until my second time through that the thing is basically running code the whole time, not just blindly eating stuff. The scene where it starts making the hybrid soldier in season 2 makes way more sense once you know it's got a plan the whole time.
