My binge buddy called the show 'background noise' and it stung

I was raving about The Expanse season 2 to my coworker Dave last Tuesday, and he said he only watched it while doing dishes, never really paying attention. That made me realize I'd been skipping episodes of Severance just to get through the plot, not actually sitting with the weirdness of it all. Have you ever had someone point out that you're rushing through a series instead of enjoying it, and did it change how you watch?

Oh man, that hits home! I used to blast through shows like it was a race, but once I started rewatching stuff I actually loved, I realized I'd missed half the good stuff, so now I force myself to pause and just soak in the vibe.
