My sister said she skips every pilot episode now and I can't decide if she's a genius or a total maniac
My sister was visiting my place in Austin last week and she told me she never watches pilot episodes anymore because she thinks they're all bad compared to season 2. I said that's insane, the pilot is where you learn who everyone is and why you should care, you'd be lost watching a random episode 12 first. She fired back that pilots are usually stuffed with fake drama and weak acting and that most shows find their footing later anyway, honestly she had a point with a couple shows I love. Now I keep staring at my watchlist wondering if I should keep pushing through rough first episodes or just jump ahead, where do you all land on this?

Oh man I actually read an article about this whole debate and pilots are basically a different show than what you end up watching. The writers are still figuring out the characters and the network notes are heavy in episode one. Jumping in at episode 3 or 4 is the sweet spot honestly, you skip the awkward setup but still get the story.
