Rant: My no-sleep binge marathon was a huge mistake

Got into that new thriller series last Friday. Watched straight through until 5 AM. Woke up feeling completely drained. Missed a small job on Saturday because I overslept. Now I stick to a few episodes a night.

Been there. I set a hard rule for myself where my phone alarm goes off an hour before I need to sleep. Sticking to just two episodes max, no matter how good the cliffhanger is, saved my weekends.

You know how sometimes the alarm just becomes background noise? I had to take the batteries out of my remote and leave them in the kitchen drawer, because I'd sleep through three phone alarms trying to finish a season.

Good trick with the alarm. I kept my TV remote across the room so I had to get up to turn it off. Made me really think about whether I wanted another episode. Started leaving my knitting or a book right on the couch instead, something else to do with my hands. Binging a true crime series turned into just one documentary, then reading a chapter.
