The last season of that show broke my binge streak

I was six episodes into a crime drama on Netflix when season 3 just fell apart. The writing got lazy and they killed off a main character for no reason. I quit halfway through episode 7 and haven't touched it in two weeks. Has anyone else just dropped a show that close to the end?

Is it really that deep though? Seems like people have been saying this since like the 90s. Maybe we just notice it more now cause everything's online and amplified.
