The one show my dad recommended that I ignored for 3 years

My dad is not a TV guy. He mainly watches old westerns and fishing shows. But back in 2020, he kept telling me about this show called 'The Crown' on Netflix. I figured it was just a stuffy history thing about kings and queens, so I brushed him off every time he brought it up. Fast forward to last month, I was stuck recovering from a knee surgery and had nothing to watch. I finally put it on out of boredom and I was hooked after two episodes. The acting and the way they tell the stories is just incredible. I called my dad to apologize and we ended up talking for an hour about his favorite characters. Has anyone else had a family member recommend a show you ignored for way too long?

Oh man, "stuffy history thing about kings and queens" is exactly what I thought. My mom wouldn't shut up about Downton Abbey for like two years. I told her I didn't care about rich people drama in old houses. Then I finally watched one episode and ended up binging the whole series in a week. I felt so dumb for ignoring her that long. Now I just trust her TV picks right away to save myself the embarrassment.

My cousin did the same thing with Outlander. She spent months telling her husband it was just some romance show with weird time travel and then got caught watching like 4 episodes in one night. Now they watch it together every week haha.
