The one time a stranger on the bus got me to finally watch 'Dark'
I was sitting on the 47 bus heading home last month, scrolling through Netflix for the hundredth time, and this older guy next to me leans over and goes 'you keep passing Dark, just start it already.' He said he watched it three times and still found new stuff. Something about how casual he was about it made me actually press play that night. I had been putting it off because everyone says you need subtitles and it's confusing. But he was right, once you get past the first episode the whole thing pulls you in. Now I'm halfway through season 2 and I keep thinking about that random bus conversation. Has anyone else had a total stranger sell them on a show?

Wait, this guy watched Dark three times? That's insane, I barely made it through once without needing a flow chart. How does someone even have that kind of time and focus? I'm impressed and a little scared. My brain would melt trying to keep all those family trees straight.

Admit it, I'm the guy with the flow chart permanently burned into my brain now. Three watches is less about being smart and more about being stubborn - I refused to let a German time travel show beat me. My coworkers think I'm nuts when I try to explain the whole Adam/Eva thing over a smoke break, but honestly, rewatching it feels like putting together a puzzle where you already found all the edge pieces. The third time was actually the easiest because I finally stopped trying to keep everyone straight and just enjoyed the vibes. Plus, it's way better than watching The Office on repeat for the hundredth time, at least my brain gets a workout.

The one time a stranger on the bus got me to finally watch 'Dark'" - honestly that guy is a hero for being so chill about it. I get the three times thing though, not because I love rewatching confusing shows but because Dark is one of those rare ones that actually rewards paying close attention. Every time I rewatch I notice a different background detail or a line that ties into something three episodes later. The family tree thing is overblown honestly, you just need to accept you won't get it all the first time and let the atmosphere carry you. Three watches is dedication but hey, some people watch The Office ten times so who are we to judge.
