The third season of that cooking competition show ruined it for me and I'm not backing down
Everyone keeps saying season four is the best but I went back and watched the first two seasons again in one weekend and the gap is huge. In the first season the judges actually sat down and ate with the cooks and gave real feedback that took 10 minutes per plate. By season four the edits got so fast that a full cook gets 90 seconds of screen time and half of it is dramatic music with no talking. I timed it in my living room in Fresno and season one had 22 minutes of actual cooking talk per episode while season four had 7. The show traded a real look at how people cook under pressure for a soap opera, and I think people just forgot what it used to be. Does anyone have a later season that still slows down and shows the actual food work?
