Unpopular opinion: The Bear is NOT binge worthy past season 1
I sat on my couch in Chicago last month and forced myself through season 2 of The Bear. Everyone praises it like it's genius TV but I honestly felt stressed and bored after episode 4. The shouting matches and kitchen chaos gave me anxiety, not entertainment. By season 3, I quit halfway through episode 2 because nothing was happening. I ended up switching to a low-stakes baking competition instead. Has anyone else found this show overhyped or am I missing something?

...and my buddy Mike literally threw his remote at the TV during season 2. He lives up in Rogers Park and kept texting me like "dude when does this get fun?" because everyone at his work was acting like it was the greatest show ever. His wife finally banned him from watching it in the living room because he was pacing around and yelling at the characters to calm down. He said the whole episode where they're just screaming about the kitchen layout and the forks made him want to drive to the actual restaurant and tell them to chill. He gave up after that and now he just watches old episodes of Great British Bake Off to decompress. So you're definitely not alone in thinking it's way too much stress for a TV show.

That episode about the forks and kitchen layout actually IS from season 1, not season 2. But I get the frustration either way. The show leans SO hard into chaos that it forgets to give you any payoff. I watched the whole season 2 waiting for something to happen and got that weird episode where they just take a day off to go shopping and fix the table. Nothing happens in that episode. Nothing. Great British Bake Off is the real MVP for stress relief though.
