Vent: I put off watching The Bear for way too long because I thought it was just a cooking show.

My friend in Chicago kept telling me to watch it, so I finally gave the first episode a shot last weekend. I ended up watching all of season 1 in a single day because the stress and family drama felt so real. Has anyone else been surprised by how much they liked a show they were sure they'd hate?

Same thing happened to me, I thought it was just chefs yelling about soup. Ended up yelling at my TV about a different kind of soup, the family trauma kind.

Honestly that show tricked me too. I put it on as background noise while doing my taxes and got so sucked into the family drama I messed up a whole column of numbers. My boss asked why the client's deductions were for "emotional damage" and "unresolved grief." The soup was just a LIE, a tasty lie that hides all the yelling.

Wait, you watched the whole first season in one day? I mean that's like a full-on panic attack marathon, how are you even functioning?
