Walked past my old Blockbuster in Tacoma and the sign is still there
Honestly, it just hit me how different binging is now. I used to ride my bike there every Friday to pick one show for the whole weekend. Anyone else have a spot like that that makes you think about how you watch stuff now?

My local video store in Fresno turned into a pharmacy about ten years ago. The whole idea of having to pick just one or two things and making it last the weekend is gone. Now the choice is endless, but it feels like I spend more time looking at menus than actually watching anything. That single trip used to be an event, and now entertainment is just this constant background noise.

Oh man, @ryantorres, you hit the nail on the head! I get so stuck scrolling through Netflix that my husband will just pick something because he's tired of waiting. Last Friday I spent forty minutes looking at thrillers, then comedies, then gave up and rewatched an old sitcom I've seen ten times. The trip to pick out a movie was half the fun, and you really thought about your choice. Now it's just a bottomless pit of options and I feel paralyzed by it.
