Guy at the supply yard in Akron told me my quench tank was 40 degrees off and I blew off the warning
Turns out my oil was reading way hotter than it felt by hand, and I cracked a 1084 blade on the second normalize because of it, so check your temp with a real thermometer before you dunk anything. Anyone else get burned trusting the old touch test?
