Hot take: I switched from coal to propane back in '09 and still miss the smell
My old coal forge in the garage got the boot when my wife said the smoke was seeping into the laundry room, so I sold the hand-crank blower at a swap meet in Ohio for $60 and bought a propane rig that heats clean but feels like welding with a hair dryer, and I still can't decide if I made the right call so tell me, did any of you stay on coal and just build a better chimney?
