I finally let a customer 'help' with a forge weld, big mistake

Had this guy come into my shop in Missoula last month, watched me work for an hour, then insisted he knew a better way to set the heat. I stepped back to grab a drink, came back and he'd dunked my billet in the slack tub because 'it looked too hot.' Ruined the weld pattern on a $140 damascus blank I'd been folding all morning. He asked why I was mad, said he was just trying to speed things up. Has anyone else had a bystander try to 'fix' your process mid-job? How do you politely keep them away without being rude?

Put up a sign saying "Hands off my tools" and point at it.
