Just crossed 500 knives forged, and one number surprised me

Hit my 500th blade last Tuesday in my shop outside Dayton. But the real shocker was realizing 211 of those were made in just the last 14 months. That means half my practice happened after I stopped worrying about perfect hammer control. Anyone else ever look back at their tally and find the learning curve actually flattened faster than they thought?
