More folks are asking about coal forges again
I've seen a shift back to coal forges from gas ones in my area. It seems people like the traditional feel and control, plus it's cheaper for some.

Saw a friend of mine try to bake bread in a coal oven once. He spent hours babysitting the fire just to get a steady temp. Kinda makes @alex_wilson79's idea of control sound like a full-time job.

You think coal gives you control? Tell that to my grandpa who could never keep a steady temp in his old forge, or any steamship engineer trying to hit a specific speed. That stuff is all about fighting a slow, dirty burn. Great for a relaxing cough though, I guess.
