Overheard a kid at the supply store trash talk anvils he's never used

Was grabbing flux at the welding supply place on 82nd and this kid, maybe 22, tells his buddy that cast iron anvils are junk and anyone using one is stuck in the past. I've ran a 150 pound cast iron anvil for 8 years, daily work, and it's held up fine for what I do. Sure, a forged steel one is nicer for some heavy drawing, but not everyone has $1,200 to drop on a brand name. The kid probably never even hit hot steel longer than a weekend class. Anyone else tired of guys who've been at it five minutes talking down the gear that's been working for decades?
